Photo Guidelines and Tips

What file formats are accepted?

•    JPG
•    JPEG
•    PNG
•    BMP

What size should the file be?

Files should be at least 100 KB in size and can be up to 4 MB.  We recommend using an image that is at least 800px by 600px large, but no larger than 5000px in either dimension.

Why was my image upload unsuccessful?

If you are uploading an image that is larger than 4 MB, please try resizing your image and uploading a smaller version. If you have a dial-up connection, the upload can take several minutes. On a high-speed internet connection the upload can take up to 30 seconds.

Why do I get an error message saying, "Page Cannot Be Displayed"?

Certain conditions with the Internet connection can cause hang-ups with your image upload. Firewall software on your computer, interference caused by heavy Internet traffic, and a noisy phone line can all result in an error page letting you know that your upload has been unsuccessful.

Strike A Pose, Pooch

To make sure every custom label comes out perfectly, it’s important to provide a high-quality image.  We recommend following these guidelines when photographing your dog:
1. Set camera image quality to medium resolution (about a 1MB jpg file)
2. Have your dog sit, facing you on a contrasting background (green grass is good, for instance)
3. Be sure your dog’s face is well lit. Lighting (sun) should be coming from over your shoulder
4. Try to reduce white space around the image as much as you can. Extra white space will
prevent the image from printing to its maximum size.
5. Hold up your dog’s favorite toy or a treat to coax out a “smile” or other favorite expression
One dog only per image— we are unable to use photos with more than one dog.
