Pet of the Week

My story is quite ordinary boy meets girl, boy loses girl…oh wait that's the movie I am watching. About three years (15 in dog years), I was rescued from my backyard by the Arizona Golden Rescue people. I used to be the top dog in my house but for some reason I started to spend a great deal of time alone in my backyard. The days of walks, grooming and play were gone. In fact, I am lucky to have been rescued at all. You see, my family moved away and left me in our backyard with a heavy chain around my neck and a big bowl of water. I made a lot of noise in the backyard hoping to attract attention to my new living conditions. Well, it worked! I was so happy to have a warm house, friendly people and care around me again. I wasn’t in to bad a shape except my coat was completely matted from my mid back to the tip of my tail so sitting was very uncomfortable (if you know what I mean)

One day, I got in my foster mom’s car and we went for a ride. I didn’t know it would be to visit my forever family’s house. You see they had two goldens but one had just died from cancer. Seda remained and she missed her brother really bad (she told me on our first visit). Seda and I got along great and we all decided this was where I would stay. Hooray! Some months later, Seda got real sick and she went to the vet but didn’t come back. Now it was just Ron, Debra and Robert. The best family I could ever want. I feel like I have won the dog lottery. I now have two houses (two sets of couches) one in the mountains and one in the Valley. As you can see from my picture, I spend my days warm and comfortable. Now that my mom has solved my itchy skin problem by feeding me Organix, I am living large. Thanks to everyone at Castor & Pollux you guys are the best.
