OUR STORY

The Story of Castor & Pollux Natural PetWorks

It all Started With Joey

Joey was an adorable lab/pointer mix puppy rescued from the humane society. He was a master at using his sad brown eyes and slobbery kisses to get anything he wanted. Joey was so persuasive, his human parents, Shelley Gunton and her husband Brian Connolly, started a pet food business just to keep him satisfied and healthy. (Like we said, this dog was good!)

That was 20 years ago.

As natural & organic ingredients became more available, Brian and Shelley saw an opportunity to make high quality, healthy food for dogs and cats. As pet parents, they understood how people truly consider their dogs and cats to be members of their family—and are always seeking better quality products for their pets. That was the beginning of Castor & Pollux Natural PetWorks.

We Assembled A Team Of Experts...

We assembled a team of experts in animal nutrition, organic and natural ingredients, processing, packaging, distribution, veterinary medicine, and technology. And pet lovers- lots and lots of pet lovers. Our goal was to provide pet parents with healthy, safe, and innovative choices for their dogs and cats.

In 2009, Castor & Pollux welcomed Robb Caseria as our CEO. Under Robb’s leadership, and with an expanding team based in Clackamas, Oregon, we continue to focus on making the safe, nutritious, high quality pet products that bring pet parents peace of mind.

In Addition To Being An Innovator...

In addition to being an innovator in natural and organic food and treats for dogs and cats, we are also committed to feeding pets in need. To date, we’ve served over 4 million meals to pets living in shelters and foster homes, and we partner with non-profit pet rescue organizations around the country through our PetWorks Partners program.

But we’re not satisfied yet. Nope. As long as there are dogs and cats in the world, we’ll be constantly looking for new ways to make their lives better through wholesome, organic and natural nutrition. And no one does natural like we do.
